Why saving the Arts is so important to the Coaching Industry
6 Jul 2020
We have heard the welcome news today that the government will be offering a £1.15bn support pot for cultural organisations in England. The government described the package as "the biggest ever one-off investment in UK culture".
Prime Minister Boris Johnson said the money "will help safeguard the sector for future generations, ensuring arts groups and venues across the UK can stay afloat". We wholeheartedly hope that they do too!
Coach operators and venues have a historic symbiotic relationship. A vast amount of our group bookings are to arts venues across the country. We schedule ourselves around new shows coming out in the west end, the panto season, the proms and provide regular private coach hire to the theatres in Cambridge and Peterborough. We have a reputation of having great knowledge of all major venues and ensure our passengers have a quality experience; our team are some of the best professional drivers and are beginning to miss the challenge of a well-heeled night at the Opera House!
We have so many valued customers that unfortunately we aren’t seeing right now. Over the years we have repeat private hire bookings from social clubs, gardening clubs, schools and companies from the Peterborough and Cambridge area. They have favourite drivers and a good rapport with our sales team. Our well attended excursions to the Thursford Christmas Spectacular see new and regular customers return year after year and we hope that this year will be no different. We cannot wait to be back in touch with you all and wish every venue good luck in receiving this new life line.
